MARKET OVERVIEW

This represents a 163% increase in volume, a 43% increase in value, and a 10% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN92.25trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 145,813.86basis points, reflecting an increase of 1,017.49basis points (0.70%) but a YTD increase of 41.67% from the previous day’s 144,796.37basis points.
In total, 127 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 53 gainers and 26 losers. Guinness Nigeria led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 128.75 per share, followed by N.E.M. Insurance Company (+10%), Meyer (+10%) and AXA Mansard Insurance (+10%). On the losing side, UAC of Nigeria came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 90.00 per share, followed by Nigerian Exchange Group (-10%), Union Homes Real Estate Inv. (-10%) and LivingTrust Mortgage Bank (-9.93%). Linkage Assurance recorded the highest volume of 562 million traded shares, followed by Sterling Bank (184m), Aiico Insurance (90.7m) and Zenith Bank (60.4m).
