MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 744.80million shares were traded in 11,226 deals, with a market value of N18.284billion. This represents a 110% increase in volume, a 154% increase in value, and a 18% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 66.16trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 105,283.67basis points, reflecting an increase of 544.06basis points (0.52%) but a YTD increase of 2.31% from the previous day’s 104,739.61basis points.
A total of 127 NGX-listed equities participated in trading, resulting in 33 gainers and 19 losers. Associated Bus Company topped the gainers’ list with a 9.86% increase in share price, closing at NGN 1.56 per share, followed by Learn Africa (+9.54%), Regency Alliance Insurance (+9.43%), and Africa Prudential (+8.63%). On the losing side, VFD Group experienced the steepest decline, dropping 82.19% to close at NGN 17.10 per share, trailed by Tripple Gee & Co. (-10%), MRS Oil Nigeria (-9.95%), and Abbey Mortgage Bank (-9.94%). Fidelity Bank recorded the highest trading volume with 389 million shares traded, followed by Guaranty Trust Holding (47 million), Universal Insurance Company (41.9 million), and Access Holdings (30.5 million).
