At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), 242.93Million shares were traded in 8,185deals, amounting to a market value of N7.287Billion. Compared with the previous trading day (Tuesday November 12), today’s data shows a 31% decrease in volume, a 21% decrease in value and a 20% decrease in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN59.04trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 97,430.36Basis points, increase 169.97Basis Points, representing a 0.17% increase, and a YTD increase of 30.36% as against the previous trading day’s close of 97,260.39Basis points.
Cumulatively, 124 NGX equities participated in trading, ending with 30 gainers and 20 losers. International Energy Insurance led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 1.32 per share, followed by John Holt (+9.98%), Eunisell Interlinked (+9.88%) and Thomas Wyatt Nigeria (+9.71%). On the losing side, Regency Alliance Insurance came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 0.45 per share, followed by Daar Communications (-7.46%), Sovereign Trust Insurance (-6.35%) and N.E.M. Insurance Company (-5.88%). Access Holdings recorded the highest volume of 40 million traded shares, followed by United Bank for Africa (23.7m), Fidelity Bank (21.3m) and United Capital (16.3m).
