MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 787.31Million shares were traded in 23,170 deals, with a market value of N25.667billion. This represents a 9% increase in volume, a 17% increase in value, and a 5% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 72.50trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 114,910.16basis points, reflecting a decrease of 348.61basis points (0.30%) but a YTD decrease of 11.64% from the previous day’s 115,258.77basis points.
In total,  128 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 29 gainers and 35 losers. C&I Leasing led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 4.62 per share, followed by Learn Africa (+10%), Mutual Benefits Assurance (+10%) and University Press (+9.82%). On the losing side, Transcorp Power came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.98% at NGN 295.70 per share, followed by Oando (-9.97%), Ellah Lakes (-9.87%) and Omatek Ventures (-9.33%). Zenith Bank recorded the highest volume of 96.2 million traded shares, followed by Guaranty Trust Holding (83.4m), United Bank for Africa (65.2m) and Access Holdings (64.2m).
