MARKET OVERVIEW

This represents a 20% increase in volume, a 1% increase in value, and a 11% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 68.36trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 108,762.61basis points, reflecting an increase of 501.14basis points (0.46%) but a YTD increase of 5.67% from the previous day’s 108,261.47basis points.
In total, 128 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 40 gainers and 25 losers. Oando led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 49.50 per share, followed by Chellarams (+10%), Transcorp Nigeria (+9.99%) and Beta Glass Company (+9.96%). On the losing side, Haldane McCall came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.85% at NGN 4.21 per share, followed by Academy Press (-7.33%), UPDC (-6.25%) and Associated Bus Company (-6.13%). Tantalizers recorded the highest volume of 57.8 million traded shares, followed by Access Holdings (36.8m), Guaranty Trust Holding (31.8m) and Fidelity Bank (23.4m).
