MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 573.75Million shares were traded in 25,881 deals, with a market value of N12.877billion. This represents a 21% decrease in volume, a 0.5% decrease in value, and a 10% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN88.78trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 140,332.44basis points, reflecting a decrease of 1,233.86basis points (0.87%) but a YTD decrease of 36.34% from the previous day’s 141,566.30basis points.
In total,  129 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 17 gainers and 45 losers. Skye Shelter Fund led the gainers with 9.99% share price appreciation closing at NGN 274.15 per share, followed by Jaiz Bank (+9.75%), Secure Electronic Technology (+9.38%) and Omatek Ventures (+5.88%). On the losing side, University Press came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 6.30 per share, followed by Thomas Wyatt Nigeria (-10%), International Energy Insurance (-10%) and Veritas Kapital Assurance (-10%). Fidelity Bank recorded the highest volume of 96.1 million traded shares, followed by Veritas Kapital Assurance (36.6m), Universal Insurance Company (32.9m) and Access Holdings (30.3m).
