MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 432.56million shares were traded in 12,027 deals, with a market value of N9.719billion. This represents a 15% increase in volume, a 18% decrease in value, and a 4% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 65.85 trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 104,788.25 basis points, reflecting an increase of 601.25 basis points (0.58%) but a YTD increase of 1.81% from the previous day’s 104,187.00 basis points.
Trading on the NGX saw 127 equities participate, with the market reflecting bullish sentiment as 45 stocks gained while only 11 declined. Caverton Offshore Support Group led the gainers with a 10% increase, closing at NGN 2.31 per share. It was closely followed by VFD Group (+9.92%), Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals (+9.92%), and Veritas Kapital Assurance (+9.57%).On the downside, Associated Bus Company recorded the steepest loss, dropping 10% to NGN 1.26 per share, followed by Eterna (-9.9%), CAP (-7.45%), and Regency Alliance Insurance (-3.64%).Access Holdings emerged as the most actively traded stock with 77.9 million shares, trailed by Ellah Lakes (44.2 million), Fidelity Bank (32.5 million), and Zenith Bank (30.2 million).
