Compared with the previous trading day (Last week Friday January 31), today’s data shows a 60% decrease in volume, a 14% decrease in value and a 0.5% increase in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN64.79trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 104,630.30Basis points, increase 134.18Basis Points, representing a 0.13% increase, and a YTD increase of 1.77% as against the previous trading day’s close of 104,496.12Basis points.
Cumulatively, 124 NGX equities participated in trading, ending with 21 gainers and 35 losers. Presco led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 643.50 per share, followed by Beta Glass Company (+10%), Okomu Oil Palm (+9.99%) and Northern Nigeria Flour Mills (+9.98%). On the losing side, University Press came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 5.04 per share, followed by Omatek Ventures (-9.88%), SCOA Nigeria (-9.83%) and Lasaco Assurance (-8.33%). FBN Holdings recorded the highest volume of 84 million traded shares, followed by Zenith Bank (54.5m), Universal Insurance Company (32.6m) and United Bank for Africa (31.6m).
