MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 500.59million shares were traded in 17,631 deals, with a market value of N12.111billion. This represents a 17% increase in volume, a 40% decrease in value, and a 23% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 66.69trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 106,116.18basis points, reflecting an increase of 363.57basis points (0.34%) but a YTD increase of 3.11% from the previous day’s 105,752.61basis points.
In total, 130 NGX-listed equities participated in trading, with 47 stocks gaining and 17 declining. International Breweries topped the gainers’ list with a 10% increase, closing at NGN 8.47 per share, while Legend Internet (+9.97%), Cadbury Nigeria (+9.96%), and Fidson Healthcare (+9.95%) also performed strongly. On the downside, Livestock Feeds led the losers with a 10% drop to NGN 8.55 per share, followed by Aradel Holdings (-9.86%), Tripple Gee & Co. (-9.6%), and John Holt (-7.94%). In terms of trading volume, Access Holdings dominated with 60.9 million shares traded, closely followed by Fidelity Bank (56.1 million), United Bank for Africa (34.5 million), and Guaranty Trust Holding (33.5 million).
