At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), 413.35Million shares were traded in 9,004deals, amounting to a market value of N5.336Billion. Compared with the previous trading day (Last week day November 15), today’s data shows a 40% increase in volume, a 21% decrease in value and a 7% increase in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN59.75trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 97,747.27Basis points, increase 24.99Basis Points, representing a 0.03% increase, and a YTD increase of 30.72% as against the previous trading day’s close of 97,722.28Basis points.
Cumulatively, 124 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 29 gainers and 21 losers. John Holt led the gainers with 9.97% share price appreciation closing at NGN 8.49 per share, followed by Beta Glass Company (+9.92%), Eunisell Interlinked (+9.92%) and Lafarge Wapco (+9.52%). On the losing side, MeCure Industries came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.65% at NGN 11.70 per share, followed by The Initiates (-9.09%), Thomas Wyatt Nigeria (-8.85%) and University Press (-7.83%). Japaul Gold and Ventures recorded the highest volume of 179 million traded shares, followed by Consolidated Hallmark Holdings (36.8m), Access Holdings (31.7m) and United Bank for Africa (17.3m).
