MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 428.16million shares were traded in 14,583 deals, with a market value of N10.519billion. This represents a 13% increase in volume, a 4% increase in value, and a 35% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 65.69trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 104,529.62 basis points, reflecting a decrease of 33.72basis points (0.03%) but a YTD increase of 1.56% from the previous day’s 104,563.34basis points.
In total, 128 NGX-listed equities traded, resulting in 27 gainers and 25 losers. Abbey Mortgage Bank topped the gainers with a 9.95% increase to NGN 6.74 per share, followed by UPDC (+9.82%), Guinea Insurance (+9.52%), and VFD Group (+9.46%). United Bank for Africa led the decliners with an 11.33% drop to NGN 31.30, trailed by International Energy Insurance (-9.76%), Consolidated Hallmark Holdings (-8.33%), and Japaul Gold and Ventures (-7.46%). Access Holdings had the highest trading volume with 56 million shares, followed by Zenith Bank (55.4m), Fidelity Bank (39m), and United Bank for Africa (33.2m).
