NGX TRADING SUMMARY FOR MONDAY, 12TH JANUARY, 2026
MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 1.149Billion shares were traded in 59,359deals, with a market value of N19.234billion. This represents a 84% increase in volume, a 4% increase in value, and a 35% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN104.521trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 163,244.69 basis points, reflecting an increase of 946.61basis points (0.58%) but a YTD increase of 48.99% from the previous day’s 162,298.08basis points.
In total, 128 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 49 gainers and 20 losers. E-Tranzact International led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 16.50 per share, followed by Red Star Express (+10%), McNichols (+10%) and UPDC (+10%). On the losing side, Champion Breweries came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 8.51% at NGN 15.05 per share, followed by Eunisell Interlinked (-8.01%), Ikeja Hotel (-8%) and Guinea Insurance (-7.3%). Sovereign Trust Insurance recorded the highest volume of 307 million traded shares, followed by Fidelity Bank (158m), Linkage Assurance (119m) and Mutual Benefits Assurance (31.5m).
