MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 892.97Million shares were traded in 21,800 deals, with a market value of N12.782billion. This represents a 30% decrease in volume, a 30% decrease in value, and a 14% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 75.96trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 119,995.76basis points, reflecting a decrease of 776.92basis points (0.64%) but a YTD decrease of 16.38% from the previous day’s 120,772.68basis points.
In total,  130 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 27 gainers and 32 losers. Neimeth International Pharma led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 5.94 per share, followed by MeCure Industries (+9.91%), Learn Africa (+9.91%) and Academy Press (+9.44%). On the losing side, Legend Internet came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.98% at NGN 8.03 per share, followed by BUA Cement (-9.92%), FTN Cocoa Processors (-9.76%) and Oando (-8.72%). Japaul Gold and Ventures recorded the highest volume of 88.3 million traded shares, followed by Ellah Lakes (80m), Access Holdings (56m) and Caverton Offshore Support Group (54m).
