NGX TRADING SUMMARY FOR FRIDAY, 23ND JANUARY, 2026
MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 731.67Million shares were traded in 44,005deals, with a market value of N19.048billion. This represents a 5% decrease in volume, a 10% decrease in value, and a 5% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN105.959trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 165,512.18 basis points, reflecting an increase of 114.81basis points (0.07%) but a YTD increase of 6.75% from the previous day’s 165,397.37basis points.
In total, 131 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 33 gainers and 39 losers. Union Homes Real Estate Inv. led the gainers with 9.94% share price appreciation closing at NGN 71.35 per share, followed by Morison Industries (+9.94%), SCOA Nigeria (+9.93%) and RT Briscoe (+9.93%). On the losing side, Neimeth International Pharma came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.86% at NGN 13.25 per share, followed by Secure Electronic Technology (-9.35%), Eterna (-8.23%) and University Press (-6.25%). Chams recorded the highest volume of 76.9 million traded shares, followed by Secure Electronic Technology (68m), Zenith Bank (49.2m) and Zichis Agro Allied Industries (48.8m).
