MARKET OVERVIEW

This represents a 34% increase in volume, a 80% increase in value, and a 7% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN89.74trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 141,845.34basis points, reflecting a decrease of 417.73basis points (0.29%) but a YTD decrease of 37.81% from the previous day’s 142,263.07basis points.
In total, 124 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 11 gainers and 43 losers. Deap Capital Management & Trust led the gainers with 9.94% share price appreciation closing at NGN 1.88 per share, followed by Sovereign Trust Insurance (+7.67%), Nigerian Breweries (+6.37%) and Guinness Nigeria (+4.49%). On the losing side, LivingTrust Mortgage Bank came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 4.77 per share, followed by Veritas Kapital Assurance (-9.91%), Secure Electronic Technology (-8.54%) and Nigerian Exchange Group (-8.32%). United Bank for Africa recorded the highest volume of 82 million traded shares, followed by Access Holdings (29.4m), Zenith Bank (27.9m) and Chams (19.5m).
