NGX TRADING SUMMARY FOR THURSDAY, 5TH FEBRUARY, 2026
MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 712.98Million shares were traded in 46,104deals, with a market value of N22.262billion. This represents a 3% increase in volume, a 8% increase in value, and a 10% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN109.129trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 170,005.36 basis points, reflecting an increase of 1,975.18basis points (1.18%) but a YTD increase of 7.96% from the previous day’s 168,030.18basis points.
In total, 129 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 55 gainers and 19 losers. Seplat Petroleum Development Co. led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 7,370.00 per share, followed by Coronation Infrastructure Fund (+10%), Guinea Insurance (+10%) and RT Briscoe (+9.95%). On the losing side, Deap Capital Management & Trust came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.62% at NGN 6.20 per share, followed by Universal Insurance Company (-9.43%), Haldane McCall (-9.09%) and Red Star Express (-9.04%). Access Holdings recorded the highest volume of 107 million traded shares, followed by Chams (44.5m), Champion Breweries (44.5m) and Universal Insurance Company (34.8m).
