NGX TRADING SUMMARY FOR MONDAY, 2ND FEBRUARY, 2026
MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 762.75Million shares were traded in 55374deals, with a market value of N18.409billion. This represents a 11% increase in volume, a 23% increase in value, and a 33% increase in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN106.162trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 165,384.63 basis points, reflecting an increase of 14.23basis points (0.01%) but a YTD increase of 6.75% from the previous day’s 165,370.40basis points.
In total, 131 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 29 gainers and 44 losers. Premier Paints led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 11.00 per share, followed by Universal Insurance Company (+10%), Daar Communications (+9.93%) and RT Briscoe (+9.92%). On the losing side, Omatek Ventures came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 2.70 per share, followed by Union Homes Real Estate Inv. (-9.96%), AXA Mansard Insurance (-9.94%) and Deap Capital Management & Trust (-9.9%). Tantalizers recorded the highest volume of 88.5 million traded shares, followed by Zenith Bank (40.2m), Veritas Kapital Assurance (39.2m) and Universal Insurance Company (29.3m).
