NGX TRADING SUMMARY FOR TUESDAY, 20TH JANUARY, 2026
MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 795.46Million shares were traded in 45,410deals, with a market value of N19.976billion. This represents a 26% increase in volume, a 35% increase in value, and a 22% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN106.436trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 166,256.82 basis points, reflecting an increase of 144.32basis points (0.09%) but a YTD increase of 6.75% from the previous day’s 166,112.50basis points.
In total, 130 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 39 gainers and 25 losers. Red Star Express led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 15.95 per share, followed by Deap Capital Management & Trust (+10%), NPF Microfinance Bank (+10%) and NCR Nigeria (+9.97%). On the losing side, Aluminium Extrusion Industries came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.95% at NGN 17.20 per share, followed by Jaiz Bank (-9.88%), FTN Cocoa Processors (-8.44%) and UPDC (-8.06%). Tantalizers recorded the highest volume of 87 million traded shares, followed by Secure Electronic Technology (74.2m), Zichis Agro Allied Industries (69.6m) and Zenith Bank (49.1m).
