MARKET OVERVIEW
At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), a total of 414.98Million shares were traded in 25,386 deals, with a market value of N12.945billion. This represents a 25% decrease in volume, a 46% decrease in value, and a 20% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN89.56trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 141,546.80basis points, reflecting a decrease of 112.20basis points (0.08%) but a YTD decrease of 37.52% from the previous day’s 141,659.00basis points.
In total, 128 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 23 gainers and 27 losers. Custodian & Allied led the gainers with 9.94% share price appreciation closing at NGN 44.80 per share, followed by Multiverse Mining & Exploration (+9.68%), Eunisell Interlinked (+9.45%) and E-Tranzact International (+9.45%). On the losing side, Austin Laz & Company came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 6.27% at NGN 2.69 per share, followed by Deap Capital Management & Trust (-5.56%), FTN Cocoa Processors (-4.84%) and Regency Alliance Insurance (-4.4%). Guaranty Trust Holding recorded the highest volume of 32.9 million traded shares, followed by Secure Electronic Technology (32.5m), United Bank for Africa (26.2m) and Chams (22m).
