MARKET OVERVIEW

This represents a 277% increase in volume, a 19% decrease in value, and a 13% decrease in the number of deals compared to the previous trading day.
The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN87.94trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 138,980.01basis points, reflecting an increase of 820.76basis points (0.60%) but a YTD increase of 35.03% from the previous day’s 138,159.25basis points.
In total, 126 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 41 gainers and 12 losers. Ellah Lakes led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 12.98 per share, followed by Veritas Kapital Assurance (+10%), Honeywell Flour Mill (+9.95%) and AXA Mansard Insurance (+9.94%). On the losing side, Austin Laz & Company came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.75% at NGN 2.87 per share, followed by Neimeth International Pharma (-8.33%), Daar Communications (-4.44%) and Champion Breweries (-4.15%). Sovereign Trust Insurance recorded the highest volume of 1.42 billion traded shares, followed by Nigerian Breweries (41.2m), Fidelity Bank (30.6m) and Zenith Bank (26.4m).
