MARKET OVERVIEW

The current equities market capitalization stands at NGN 71.90trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 114,017.48basis points, reflecting a decrease of 599.27basis points (0.52%) but a YTD decrease of 11.56% from the previous day’s 114,616.75basis points.
In total, 129 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 34 gainers and 28 losers. Berger Paints led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 22.55 per share, followed by E-Tranzact International (+10%), Daar Communications (+10%) and Legend Internet (+9.93%). On the losing side, Industrial & Medical Gases came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 11.08% at NGN 32.90 per share, followed by RT Briscoe (-10%), John Holt (-9.87%) and Beta Glass Company (-9.69%). Access Holdings recorded the highest volume of 88.3 million traded shares, followed by Zenith Bank (49.3m), Guaranty Trust Holding (47.2m) and Fidelity Bank (42.9m).
