Compared with the previous trading day (Wednesday January 29), today’s data shows a 18% increase in volume, a 21% decrease in value and a 16% decrease in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN64.87trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 104,744.43Basis points, increase 194.69Basis Points, representing a 0.19% increase, and a YTD increase of 1.77% as against the previous trading day’s close of 104,549.74Basis points.
Cumulatively, 126 NGX equities participated in trading, ending with 39 gainers and 25 losers. Honeywell Flour Mill led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 9.35 per share, followed by Chellarams (+10%), Northern Nigeria Flour Mills (+9.98%) and Skyway Aviation Handling Co. (+9.89%). On the losing side, Guinea Insurance came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 0.72 per share, followed by RT Briscoe (-9.7%), Veritas Kapital Assurance (-9.3%) and May & Baker Nigeria (-8.95%). FBN Holdings recorded the highest volume of 83.1 million traded shares, followed by Veritas Kapital Assurance (40m), Universal Insurance Company (26.8m) and Fidelity Bank (24.8m).
