At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), 521.92Million shares were traded in 9,420deals, amounting to a market value of N19.93Billion. Compared with the previous trading day (Tuesday December 3), today’s data shows a 55% decrease in volume, a 27% decrease in value and a 0.18% increase in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN59.51trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 98,174.99Basis points, increase 472.43Basis Points, representing a 0.48% increase, and a YTD increase of 30.40% as against the previous trading day’s close of 97,702.56Basis points.
Cumulatively, 126 NGX equities participated in trading, ending with 42 gainers and 21 losers. Golden Guinea Breweries led the gainers with 9.83% share price appreciation closing at NGN 4.47 per share, followed by Thomas Wyatt Nigeria (+9.83%), FTN Cocoa Processors (+9.5%) and Deap Capital Management & Trust (+9.43%). On the losing side, Sunu Assurances Nigeria came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.85% at NGN 4.21 per share, followed by Learn Africa (-9.85%), Haldane McCall (-9.15%) and PZ Cussons Nigeria (-8.71%). Tantalizers recorded the highest volume of 88.3 million traded shares, followed by Lafarge Wapco (57.2m), Access Holdings (41m) and Cutix (37.1m).
