At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), 467.68Million shares were traded in 10,659deals, amounting to a market value of N9.590Billion. Compared with the previous trading day (Wednesday November 20), today’s data shows a 26% increase in volume, a 14% increase in value and a 6% increase in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN59.39trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 97,992.55Basis points, decrease 234.95Basis Points, representing a 0.24% decrease, and a YTD increase of 31.37% as against the previous trading day’s close of 98,227.50Basis points.
Cumulatively, 127 NGX equities participated in trading, ending with 35 gainers and 25 losers. Austin Laz & Company led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 2.42 per share, followed by Eunisell Interlinked (+9.98%), Haldane McCall (+9.95%) and Honeywell Flour Mill (+9.93%). On the losing side, Wapic Insurance came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.82% at NGN 1.01 per share, followed by University Press (-9.09%), Sovereign Trust Insurance (-8.96%) and Universal Insurance Company (-8.82%). FBN Holdings recorded the highest volume of 51.1 million traded shares, followed by Tantalizers (48.8m), Lafarge Wapco (39.7m) and Fidelity Bank (26.6m).
