At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), 358.85Million shares were traded in 6,719deals, amounting to a market value of N11.962Billion. Compared with the previous trading day (Thursday October 17), today’s data shows a 50% increase in volume, a 87% increase in value and a 8% increase in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN59.43trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 98,070.28Basis points, decrease 11.10Basis Points, representing a 0.01% decrease, and a YTD increase of 31.49% as against the previous trading day’s close of 98,081.38Basis points.

 

In the aggregate, 122 NGX listed equities participated in trading, ending with 21 gainers and 24 losers. McNichols led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 1.43 per share, followed by University Press (+9.41%), Daar Communications (+9.09%) and Transcorp Power (+8.76%). On the losing side, Aradel Holdings came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.99% at NGN 625.40 per share, followed by Deap Capital Management & Trust (-9.66%), Champion Breweries (-8.8%) and NPF Microfinance Bank (-5.88%). Japaul Gold and Ventures recorded the highest volume of 137 million traded shares, followed by United Bank for Africa (38.6m), Zenith Bank (27.9m) and Access Holdings (27.4m).
