At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), 268.39Million shares were traded in 8,565deals, amounting to a market value of N6.759Billion. Compared with the previous trading day (Wednesday October 02), today’s data shows a 37% decrease in volume, a 20% decrease in value and a 28% decrease in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN55.78trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 98,232.39Basis points, decrease 326.40Basis Points, representing a 0.33% decrease, and a YTD increase of 31.78% as against the previous trading day’s close of 98,558.79Basis points.

 

Cumulatively, 119 equities participated in trading, ending with 23 gainers and 28 losers. Seplat Petroleum Development Co. led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 4,513.40 per share, followed by Livestock Feeds (+9.93%), Regency Alliance Insurance (+9.76%) and Caverton Offshore Support Group (+9.63%). On the losing side, Dangote Cement came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at NGN 478.80 per share, followed by McNichols (-10%), Secure Electronic Technology (-7.58%) and UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust (-4.72%). United Bank for Africa recorded the highest volume of 37.1 million traded shares, followed by Zenith Bank (19m), Deap Capital Management & Trust (13.9m) and Sterling Bank (13.1m).
