At the close of today’s trading session on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX), 1.845Billion shares were traded in 10,378deals, amounting to a market value of N111.412Billion. Compared with the previous trading day (Last week Friday September 27), today’s data shows a 133% increase in volume, a 1609% increase in value and a 36% increase in the number of deals. The Current equities market capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Ltd is NGN56.64trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) closed at 98,558.79Basis points, decrease 100.11Basis Points, representing a 0.10% increase, and a YTD increase of 31.78% as against the previous trading day’s close of 98,458.68Basis points.
Cumulatively, 121 equities participated in trading, ending with 32 gainers and 23 losers. Africa Prudential led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation closing at NGN 9.90 per share, followed by Abbey Mortgage Bank (+10%), Secure Electronic Technology (+10%) and Tripple Gee & Co. (+9.93%). On the losing side, Ellah Lakes came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 9.96% at NGN 4.43 per share, followed by Neimeth International Pharma (-9.81%), Academy Press (-9.78%) and Caverton Offshore Support Group (-9.7%). Japaul Gold and Ventures recorded the highest volume of 183 million traded shares, followed by United Bank for Africa (45.2m), Access Holdings (34.9m) and Veritas Kapital Assurance (30.4m)..
